Isuzu Utility Vehicles

Isuzu don’t have a range of commercial vehicles and are traditionally a truck manufacturer however in 2002 they entered the light utilty vehicle market with their D-Max Pick-Up. Built in Thailand alongside Chevrolet it is popular across the world in countries like Australia and New Zealand where it goes by a different name with different models. With the D-Max though Isuzu have definitely covered all bases as it has so many variations and trim specs to suit all terrains, activities and duties required of it.

With its one engine choice – the 2.5 litres diesel 163hp with its 5 or 6 speed manual transmission gives good fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. Available in Single Cab 4x2, Single Cab 4x4, Extended Cab and Double Cab the base models are good utility vehicles however if you want more from your pick-up and your day to day demands need something a bit different the huge range of extras will leave you spoilt for choice.

As far as safety goes all models comes with Advanced Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stabilty Control (ESC) and traction control as standard. Even the basic utility trim models have airbags – front, side and curtain. 4x4 is available on the move for slippery and other awkward terrains.

As you would expect with this type of vehicle which is built for utilty and tougher terrain the cabin doesn’t resemble something out of a futuristic space film although it does have everything the user might need. The dashboard and trim are made from durable, wipe clean plastic which is handy in this type of vehicle but as you move up through the range the spec available does improve. The basic models however all have air-conditioning, front electric windows and adjustable headrests. With the trim specs though come extras like alloy wheels, height asjustable sterring wheel, reading lights, manual air-conditioning and daytime running lights. Technologically speaking as you move up through the range you get stereo with Bluetooth, USB/iPod connection, a six speaker stereo system and more. The top of the range models offers all the bells and whistles with electrically adjustable leather seats, parking sensors and roof bars. Sat nav and other add ons are available on request.

There is no doubt that the Isuzu D-Max Pick-up is a practical, well built vehicle and serves its purpose as a utility vehicle built for business or pleasure and that you can tailor it to suit your needs with its many cab variations and trim specs. They have thought of everything from driver comfort and space to stow away things to options like the fix on load bed to extend the load length
