Peugeot Commercial Vehicles
The Peugeot line up of vans range from the small and economical Bipper, perfect as an urban run around, to the more powerful and sturdy Boxer, the largest van in the Peugeot range. From the 660kg, 2.8 cubic metre payload capacity of the Bipper to the 1900kg, 17 cubic metre capacity at the top end of the Boxer range, Peugeot have a model to suit whatever your commercial requirements. Peugeot doesn’t aim to be over ambitious with its range and with its 4 different models they offer enough to get the job done. These are vans for the tradesman or delivery business that do what they say on the tin.
As one of the most recognisable European producers Peugeot started production in 1882 and since then have continually worked hard to solidify their place in the automotive market continually improving and upgrading their products. The cabins are comfortable and spacious and they are both practical and well designed, both inside and out. In fact what you get with Peugeot is a realistically priced and reliable van that is both efficient and economical.
The Peugeot engine range
The engine range consists of the smallest 1.3 litre diesel 75hp in the Bipper to the 3.0 litre 180hp with the Boxer and all sizes in between.
Its 1.3 diesel 75hp engine, also available with start stop functionality, is both fuel efficient and economic achieving 62.8 mpg, although for busy town and city stop start traffic expect this to come in at around the low to mid-50 range.
The increased efficiency of the Partner offers multiple choices of a 1.6 engine
1.6-litre BlueHDi 75
1.6-litre BlueHDi 100
1.6-litre BlueHDi 100 Stop-Start
1.6-litre BlueHDi 100hp Stop-Start ETG6
The engine options on The Peugeot Expert are a 1.6HDi 90hp or a 2.0HDi available in 130 or 163hp and 163 automatic. Fuel consumption of around 35 – 48mpg can be expected dependent on the model, payload and how efficiently it is driven.
The Boxer is available with a choice of 2.2HDi engine with 110, 130, 150hp and a 3.0HDi with 180hp and start stop technology on the 2.2HDi 130hp version, which significantly reduces CO2 emissions. Fuel efficiency of approximately 33 – 48 mpg and CO2 emissions of 485 – 189 g/km can be achieved depending on engine choice and driving style.
The cabins on the Peugeot van range are both comfortable and practical and feature everything you would expect in a lightweight commercial vehicle. The Bipper cabin is both functional yet simple with 3 grades of trim offering the driver a greater choice of options and is a comfortable vehicle designed for those who spend long periods of time behind the wheel. It may be small and compact but it has enough space for even taller drivers. There are comfort packs and driver packs that can be added featuring those extras like seat height adjustment, lumbar support and armrest. At the other end of the scale is the Boxer standard and it also caters for the driver who spends large amounts of their day at the wheel with power assisted steering, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, electric front windows, a central dash folding clipboard (not available with passenger airbag) and a 4 speed heater blower. The Professional offers the addition of an audible rear parking aid and a manual air-conditioning for the cab, incl. glovebox as well as the addition of a touchscreen with integrated Sat Nav. Externally the front end has been redesigned with a wide grille giving it a more attractive appearance and more enhancements have seen some tweaks to the brakes, suspension damper brackets and structure for increased strength and noise reduction. For those whose van doubles up as an office there are handy little features like clipboards for securing paperwork and fold down central seat with space for a laptop and integrated cup holders. There are also lots of handy storage solutions like a fold out drawer under the driver’s seat.
