Launched in France over a century ago Renault now operates in over 120 countries worldwide and as of 2013 had sold 2.6 million vehicles worldwide. For more than a decade now Renault has been billed as the leading LCV brand in Europe. Its 5 biggest markets don’t include the UK but are France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Brazil. In 2013 they were also leading the way in Electric vehicle sales and they continue to grow and involve and update their products.
Renault's commercial vehicle range offers something for everyone. For smaller private individuals and small traders in need of compact and efficient new van there is the Kangoo. For those that’s needs are more demanding there are the larger Trafic and Master. Short and long wheelbase versions, cab options and many other customisations are available to ensure your choice can meet your needs. The Renault commercial line-up includes the Kangoo, Trafic and Master. There is also an efficient electric version of the Kangoo that offers more economy and benefits. With the engineering expertise of the Renault Formula 1 team they have developed engines that are both kinder to the environment and more fuel efficient.
The Renault Kangoo
As the smallest in the Renault range it is both compact and fuel-efficient and makes the perfect urban run around. Perfect for lighter jobs and day-to-day deliveries its recent makeover means it has a whole host of additional features A popular choice with small businesses and those in need of more space it is easy to see why this van is enjoying such popularity.
The engines available in the Renault Kangoo are variable geometry turbocharger (dCi 75 hp, dCi 90 hp and dCi 110 hp) and variable geometry turbocharger ENERGY engines (ENERGY dCi 75 hp and ENERGY dCi 90 hp) These fuel efficient engines with start/stop technology and a new regenerative braking system, derived from Formula 1 technology, mean that a fuel economy of 67mpg can be achieved.
The Renault Trafic
Like other Renault vans the Trafic has many features designed with the driver in mind. Built for comfort and practicality it would seem that they have thought of everything with this van. Available in panel van, crew van or passenger van the Trafic also gives the option of short or long wheelbase and low or high roof.
The Trafic is available in 2 engine types the variable geometry turbo – 90 and 155hp and the dCi Twin Turbo – 120 and 140hp. With Twin Turbo and stop/start technology fuel consumption of up to 49mpg can be achieved although this completely depends on the model, load and style of driving.
The Renault Master
The Renault Master was first introduced in 2010 and offers just about everything for business and pleasure available in van, crew cab, chassis cab, platform cab and dropside the Master is also available in twin or single wheel versions. There are many model options and conversions available and it also comes with 3 trim options (Debut, Core and Sport).
For a large van the 2.3-diesel engine offers good fuel economy, which will obviously vary depending on model and use. 36-38pmg at its optimum performance the driver should expect somewhere in the late 20s.
The R&Go application enables you to connect your android or IOS devices to the touchscreen system in your van. You can access your contacts and manage them, play your music and download maps. Carminat TomTom enables you to calculate the best journey route, view speed cameras and see news on a large colour screen.
The space on offer with the Renault line up ranges from 3 cubic metres in the Renault Kangoo (4 cubic metres with the Maxi) and 17 cubic metres in the Renault Master which can be increased with the Master Luton. Access is designed to meet the demands of unloading and loading placed on it with side sliding doors and rear double doors that open out to 180 degrees allowing good access. The range also benefits from low loading heights another key requirement for load carrying vehicles.
For the smaller and more compact Kangoo there is a Ready 4 Work system that can be added on to the choice of model giving the owner a readymade racking system especially made for the Kangoo which arrives complete and ready to install at the dealer on delivery of your van.
